China's top justice and immigration authority announced Sat they will pay attention to feedback from the public and further improve the proposed regulations on permanent residency for foreigners before officially rolling out the rules

Ministry of Justice said the regulation is still in the stage of soliciting public opinions, and that it will not be hastily enforced until public opinions are fully absorbed and further amendments are made.
An official with the State Administration of Immigrants said China attaches great importance to public concern over the management of foreigners. While protecting foreigners' lawful rights and interests, the administration will further strengthen measures to restrict illegal entry, stranded personnel inspection, repatriation, and investigation of any criminal activities.
