China-Africa ties unshakable amid misinofrmation campaign

China-African friendship should not be shaken by misinformation, especially the recent hyping of so-called discrimination toward Africans in China's Guangdong Province on overseas social media, expressed ambassadors, officials and people in China and Africa.
Kaiyamo's remarks are in response to video footage circulating on social media shot by a Namibian national, Selma Kambala, showing her alleged eviction from a hotel in China.
However, when talking to the ambassador on phone, Kambala said that the hotel owners have moved her to another hotel.
The ambassador asked Kambala to rectify the information in her video to the Namibian people as her video is "putting our Chinese friends in a very bad situation, because you are telling them that they are treating you blacks very bad, which is not true."
Nigerian Foreign Minister Geoffrey Onyeama said on a meeting on Tuesday in Nigeria that there is nothing wrong in Guangzhou applying strict anti-epidemic policies based on the experience of Wuhan.
"Now we have learned the truth and we are happy that our institutes in China are working close with their Chinese partners," Oyneama said, noting that Nigerian officials in China sent him a video on Tuesday morning showing that Nigerian citizens quarantined in Guangzhou had all received a gift package from the local authorities as a sign of China-Nigeria friendship.
Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria Zhou Pingjian said that China-Nigeria relations were unbreakable.
An Egyptian analyst named Hussein told the Global Times that we should be alert that some forces are trying to sow discord between China and African countries at the moment of the global pandemic.
The virus is a common enemy to both China and African countries and joint efforts should be made to overcome the difficulties, he said.
