China is planning to create 9 million jobs in 2020, the lowest since 2014, as the country seeks to control rising unemployment, which is essential to social stability, amid serious pressure from the #COVID19 pandemic, the Government Work Report said on Friday.
Chinese Premier Li Keqiang delivered the report to the opening of the annual session of the National People's Congress, China's top legislative body.
Also in the report, China said it would keep the inflation rate at 3.5 percent for the year, the highest level since 2015, as the country seeks to balance policy priorities to stabilize livelihood and leave sufficient room for monetary policy.
