Streamed on video platform Yizhibo, the birthday party saw the band members all dressed in pajamas. The party quickly went viral, with the related topic on Sina Weibo earning 150 million views in just 10 hours. Meanwhile, the Sina Weibo post announcing the livestream had earned more than 1.49 million likes, comments and reposts as of Monday afternoon.
The pajama party appeared to be very relaxing and one of the stars had fun giving himself new hairstyles using the icing from a huge birthday cake.
Due to restrictions to curb the spread of COVID-19 in China, the band has increasingly turned to online events in June. One poster of the band released on its official Sina Weibo account has earned more than 323,000 views.
R1SE's fans posted birthday greetings to the band, with many saying they wanted to see the band more often. Some fans' greetings focused on R1SE's growth, saying that the band still had far more room to explore and shine even though they may have to overcome some difficulties.
"Happy birthday! You're the best," one fan posted.
In one birthday video, a fan recalled all the band's milestones - the first time they performed together, their first flight as a band, the first time they walked the red carpet and their first music video - adding that he wished to "rise" together with the band.
The band R1SE was established on Tencent Video's reality show Produce Camp 2019. They made their debut on June 9, 2019, with their single hit "R1SE."
