An 84-year old woman in Huaian, East China's Jiangsu Province, who beat her husband to death with a wooden stick has been sentenced to 10 years in prison, reported Toutiao News on Tuesday.

The incident occurred after the woman and her 80-year-old husband had a quarrel one night when she realized he hadn't made dinner. 

Frustrated, the woman went out to borrow some noodles for dinner from their neighbors. When she came back, she found herself locked out by her husband and entered the apartment through a window. During the ensuing quarrel, the woman lost control and kicked her husband, leading to his death.

When she realized he had died, the woman turned herself in to the police. 

She was sentenced to 10 years in prison given her age and the fact she had surrendered to authorities.
