letter of commitment/ 承诺书/ (chénɡnuòshū)  

A: Coconut Palm released its recruitment information. Applicants must promise to serve in the company for life. Some media on Sina Weibo held polls asking netizens if they think such a request is reasonable. 

椰树集团发布招聘信息, 应聘者需承诺终身在"椰树"服务。微博上有媒体发起了投票。你觉得这样要求合理吗？

B:  I also saw that. The company requires a letter of commitment, with real estate as collateral. If employees leave, they need to repay the company with the real estate. This is obviously illegal.

A: The Labor Contract Law clearly states that workers have the right to resign. Even if there is an agreement, it is okay if the worker wants to change later.
