The Spartan adult race culminated its two-day competition on Sunday, with Niu Zhiming and Zeng Ying winning the men's and women's title respectively. 

More than 6,000 people participated in the race at the picturesque Beijing Expo Park in the capital's Yanqing district, home to the world horticulture exposition Expo 2019.

The Spartan race has been staged in China more than 60 times since 2016, with a total number of participants reaching 300,000.

The race series will continue in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang Province, on November 7 and Xiamen, Fujian Province on November 14.
