Right after the opening of two- day long 7th China Education Exhibition in Nepali capital Kathmandu Saturday, meeting of Nepal-China Education Exchange Forum held as highlights of exhibition.
Being a first of its kind, Nepal-China Education Exchange Forum will be discussing on further cooperation and collaboration in the field of education between two countries.
"This year for the first time, we are organizing forum, this is the right time to sit together, to know each other and develop our age old friendship," said Dr. Harish Chandra Shah, President of Nepal Araniko Society.
According to him, meeting of the forum is very important for Nepal. "This is the right platform to know each other, develop our close relation and understanding in education field. Now every year big numbers of Nepalese students are going to China for their higher education," Shah said highlighting the relevance of holding forum for the first time.
Similarly, Secretary-General of China Scholarship Council and head of China Education Exhibition delegation termed forum a key component of the exhibition.
During the first meeting of Nepal-China Education Exchange Forum, Dr. Tirtha Khaniya from Nepal's National Planning Commission, Dr. Suresh Raj Sharma, Vice Chancellor of Kathmandu University, Dr. Madhav Sharma, Vice Chancellor of Tribhuvan University and Mahashram Sharma, Joint Secretary of Ministry of Education will be speaking from Nepali side.
Though the meeting of the forum is first of its kind in Nepal, it is the part of China Education Exhibition that is happening in Nepal since 2003 aiming to impart information regarding Chinese education and higher education institutions.
Arniko society has been organizing China Education Exhibition successfully for six years. Araniko Sociey, an alumni association of Nepalese scholars and experts who have graduated from China every year comes forward to host such exhibition.
As aimed by organizers, every year number of visitors to exhibition is increasing. Due to the successful exhibition, more and more Nepalese students have gone to China for study, according to the organizers.
