Whether you are looking for a zombie crawl, a horror house, or a fetish party this Halloween, Shanghai has got you covered. Here's a list of the city's spookiest parties, so get your costume ready and pick a place to trick-or-treat this year.
This week's Halloween celebrations will kick off on Tuesday, October 29 with the HorriCHIC party at The Geisha (390 Shaanxi Road South), organized by French Tuesdays team - the networking group throwing parties once a month, in a different venue and with a different theme. This month they are taking over The Geisha to transform it into two different ambiances.

"The party will begin in Hell, which will be on the top floor terrace," said Raul Heraud, the party's organizer. Expect the decoration to be gory, with lots of body parts, blood, skeletons, and clips from spooky horror movies.
"After 10:30 pm, the gates to heaven will open and guests will be allowed to the club level, all decorated in white, with clouds and angels," he said. There will be themed drinks, live performances, DJ SAMU from New York, a lucky draw, and a prize for the best costume. The party will start at 8 pm and go on until 1 am.
Cirque le Soir (22 Zhongshan Road South), the new circus-themed club on the Bund, will be celebrating Halloween with their House of Horrors from Wednesday, October 30 until Saturday, November 2 (9 pm till 4 am). You can expect eccentric décor, coffins, skeletons, ghouls, and a special guest from London, Heavy Metal Pete.

"He is a true circus gypsy," said Prudance Chu, project manager at Cirque le Soir. "After training his incredible feats of endurance for years, he has come to join us here in Shanghai." His acts include sword swallowing, fire eating, walking on a broken glass, lying on a razor sharp bed of nails, and eating light bulbs.
"He also performs two tricks called 'the human ashtray' and 'the human blockhead' and if you don't know what they are you will have to come along to Cirque le Soir to see for yourself," Chu said. Table reservations are highly recommended. Contact RSVP@cirquelesoirshanghai.com or 400-9910-088.
On the actual Halloween night, Thursday, October 31, Bar Rouge (18 Zhongshandongyi Road) is throwing another of their Pervert Parties. Latex, whips, chains and leather suits will be back once again this Halloween.

Ladies get in free and can enjoy an open bar from 9:30 pm until 11:30 pm. Fetish or black outfits are mandatory to get in. If you need an outfit, try your luck at the adult market on 428 Tianmu Road Middle.
For something a bit different this Halloween, head to Inferno (480 Yongjia Road) for their Heavy Metal Halloween Scream Contest. Contestants will get a chance to imitate heavy metal artists live on the Inferno bar stage in front of a group of judges.
There will be prizes for those who can scream the loudest, plus drink specials. The contest will start at 9 pm.
Pub Crawl Shanghai will be celebrating Halloweek on the night of Halloween.
"Over 800 people joined Halloween Pub Crawls last year and this year we are planning for a massive migration of the wildest and most ridiculous costumes, hitting up all the best Halloween shindigs, getting weird at warehouse parties and dancing under the stars on outdoor terraces," said Johanna Hoopes, co-founder of the Drunken Dragon Pub Crawls.
