Lhasa is the capital of the Tibetan Autonomous Region and it is a holy place of Tibetan Buddhism. The city has an altitude of 3,650 meters, situated in the central part of the Tibetan Plateau, on the north side of the Himalayas. Lhasa is well-known around the world for its picturesque scenery, long history, and unique customs that are deeply influenced by religion.

Lhasa has a large number of world cultural heritage sites: the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, and Norbulingka. Barkhor Street also attracts many tourists for shopping and browsing local products.
