French President Francois Hollande arrived here Sunday to start his first three-day visit to Canada.

Holland is also the first French president to make an official visit to western Canada. He was greeted by Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper at the Calgary airport and they then made a trip to the Banff National Park in Albert, where the two leaders will attend a state dinner hosted by Governor General of Canada David Johnston.

Harper and Hollande are also expected to discuss topics ranging from more cooperation on international security, trade and economic development, innovation, to broader people-to-people ties. The French president will address the Canadian Parliament in Ottawa, the Canadian capital, Monday. He is also expected to visit two other Canadian cities of Montreal and Quebec.
