Changan Ford Automobile Co, the leading automaker in the Chinese mainland market, held a "Go Further" special event in Guangzhou on Tuesday evening, indicating that the joint venture's ambition in brand value and corporate strategy has gone beyond merely car sales.
Recently, Changan Ford attracted more attention among young people by being the sole title sponsor of the talent show "Chinese Idol." The spirit of pursuing dreams with relentless effort is in accordance with the brand image showed in the company's recently launched television commercial: go further on the way to your dream.
During the Tuesday evening event, the company unveiled three new models that will be launched at The 12th China (Guangzhou) International Automobile Exhibition Thursday, as a further step to fulfill the "Go Further" brand promise.
The stellar debuts comprised the All New Ford Escort, the All New Ford Edge and the All New Ford Taurus. The continuously expanding lineup shows the joint venture's growth potential by providing rich choices to Chinese consumers.
The All New Ford Escort, one of the three new unveiled models, meets the needs of modern Chinese families with several key advantages: fashionable design, fuel efficiency, comfortable space and strong safety.
The global debut of the 7-seat All New Ford Edge was another highlight. This luxurious and comfortable SUV is designed for both commercial use and families with 3 rows space.
Changan Ford's latest cutting-edge flagship model, the All New Ford Taurus, was presented in a holographic projection show on the evening event. The high-end new vehicle broadens the company's product portfolio as the company promised to "Go Further."
Nowadays, in addition to vehicle production, Changan Ford has made a commitment to improving people's lives to further demonstrate the brand promise to "Go Further."
The company runs innovative brand campaigns, such as winning the 2014 China Touring Car Championship (CTCC), which was its 7th victory in the CTCC in the past 9 years, providing strong evidence for the Focus brand's leading position in the market.
Changan Ford has been devoted to building its brand and winning trust from consumers in the past several years by delivering high-quality cars and holding up the four brand pillars of "quality, green, safety and smart."
With all these efforts, Changan Ford has seen strong sales growth in recent years. From January to October, the joint venture sold 660,566 vehicles, with a 23 percent year-on-year increase.
In addition to the surging sales, Changan Ford's investment in the Chinese market has also moved into a new phase.
The joint venture started with 17 dealers in 2001, but the dealer number has since surged and it saw 88 new dealers join its massive dealer network around China in June.
With the new dealers, the total number of Changan Ford's dealers in China is expected to exceed 800 by the end of 2014.
The fast-expanding dealer network is backed by an ever-growing production capacity. The company has made considerable investments and now operates an industrial complex consisting of six plants.
With the state-of-the-art complex, Changan Ford's total annual capability is expected to be more than 1.2 million units by 2015.
