The
National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) denied media reports that the antitrust probe into US mobile chip maker Qualcomm Inc was reported to the State Council, China Central Television (CCTV) reported Sunday on its Sina Weibo account.
NDRC said that the investigation into Qualcomm is still ongoing and was not being reported to the State Council, the country's cabinet.
NDRC's antitrust probes are conducted independently by its antitrust department and there is no procedure of reporting to the State Council, CCTV said.
The probe into Qualcomm started in 2013.
Qualcomm was accused of abusing its dominance in the wireless telecommunication copyright and cellphone chip markets.
