Samba and soccer are the first images that tend to pop up in people's minds when talking about Brazil. However, the Brazilian film
Central Station and a presentation by Guilherme Belli, head of the Trade Promotion and Investment Section at the Embassy of Brazil in Beijing, showed another side of the large South American nation.
Thanks to "Go to Brazil," a cultural exchange event sponsored by the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation, the Global Times and China National Radio on Friday in Beijing, a number of Chinese entrepreneurs got a chance to better their understanding of Brazil.
In addition to the movie screening and presentation, a session between business leaders was held to discuss cultural and investment opportunities between the two nations.
The event was just one of a series of events to promote cultural exchange between China and the world hosted by the Global Times and embassies in Beijing. A cultural event for South Korea is scheduled for January.
