China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy will hold a drill in the South China Sea, according to the
Ministry of National Defense Sunday.
The fleet will reach the sea through the West Pacific Ocean, said a statement from the ministry, adding it's part of the annual training plan of the PLA Navy.
China warned the US in November not to send military vessels again to Chinese territory in the South China Sea, after the US angered China the USS Lassen appeared in waters near Zhubi Reef on a so-called freedom of navigation patrol.
