The Chinese military's rocket force has assigned around 100 military officers to five newly-established military theater commands to support their joint operations.
The Party committee of the People's Liberation Army rocket force recommended those who could quickly adjust and with sound work experience and capabilities, Wang Dajun, an official with the rocket force's political work department, told China National Radio (CNR).
Du Shanguo, a publicity department official with the northern theater command said that the recommended military officials have the expertise, experience and academic background to work effectively.
China unveiled the five theater commands in February as part of its military reforms.
Song Zhongping, a Beijing-based military expert, told the Global Times that the newly-formed commands need military officers with combat commanding abilities from all the services for joint combat operations. Other services including the air force and navy will also recommend military officers to the five theater commands.
