"You're only getting a new prime minister. I'm getting a new owner."
David Cameron confirmed that Theresa May will become the next British prime minister on Wednesday, announcing that he will vacate the office before July 13, according to a BBC report.
As Cameron departs, Larry, the unofficial chief mouser of the Cabinet Office, will stay on as a crucial member of the civil service.
The tabby cat was adopted from London's Battersea Cats and Dogs Home in 2011, and moved into Number 10 Downing Street after reports of a mouse infestation in the residence. With the change of leadership almost complete, an unofficial Twitter account under Larry's name, @Number10cat, spoke of a need to find a pet groomer to help make a good first impression on Theresa May.
