Editor's Note:
A giant panda has broken two records in one day - the oldest giant panda to give birth and the oldest of her kind to become a mother to twins. At the age of 23, Haizi gave birth in the early hours of July 30 at Shenshuping base in Wolong of the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda (CCRCGP), in Southwest China's Sichuan Province. The average lifespan of giant pandas is around 20-25 years.
