Editor's Note:
The paixiao, or Chinese pan pipes, have 3,000 years of history. However, for the last 20 years, a team of master craftspeople in Yangzhou, East China's Jiangsu Province has been devoted to reviving the nearly lost art of panpipe making. It takes about two weeks to produce a panpipe, each made with bamboo that is cured for three years.
