A press conference was held at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Qingdao summit media center on June 8, one day ahead of the summit. Liao Jinrong, director-general of the International Cooperation Department at China's Ministry of Public Security, said at the press conference that members of the SCO will continue to boost the cooperation in the security sector, as regional security still faces severe challenges such as the threat from terrorists, rampant drugs, and organized cross-border crimes.
