With a population of more than 11 million, Wuhan, the novel coronavirus outbreak epicenter, vowed a citywide dragnet style inspection for the virus to make sure all those who have contracted COVID-19 are identified within three days. The inspection started on Feb 17. Global Times reporters learned that many communities strictly prohibited unauthorized personnel from leaving and entering the community and encouraged the purchase of essential necessities, such as vegetables, in the community. However, as of 6:20pm Wednesday, there were still some communities unguarded, and people were free to come and go. Some residents in Wuchang district said that there was no sanitation management in the buildings, no inspections conducted by any community officials, and no guaranteed living supplies.Photos: Cui Meng/GT
