The coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, that has left millions confined to their homes, has dealt a heavy blow to the luxury brand industry which heavily relies on offline consumption. Recent data has revealed that COVID-19 could see Chinese consumers spending 20 percent less on luxury items for Q1 2020, while cosmetic sales are expected to slump by 30 percent. Over the weekend, Shanghai luxury stores at shopping malls across the city reported fewer visitors.(Photos:Chen Xia/GT)
