Wuhan Zoo reopened on Wednesday after a hiatus of three months due to the COVID-19 epidemic. Visitors must show 'health codes' and undergo temperature screening before entry. Authorities have also urged visitors to wear masks while inside the zoo premises. The zoo welcomed several new lives during the shutdown, including two baby "milus" (a species of deer native to the river valleys of China), one pony, and five black swans. Though not as crowded as before, locals are anticipating a bustling Wuhan again, as public transit also fully resumed operation on Wednesday. Photos: Li Hao/GT
