Customers buy White Rabbit milk candies at a food shop in Shanghai’s landmark Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street on Tuesday, the site where Chinese Premier Li Keqiang visited on Monday night before buying three bags of White Rabbit candies for 60 yuan ($8.8). Established in 1959, White Rabbit milk candy — or dabaitu — is an iconic candy brand in China. It is not only sold in China but also Southeast Asia, the US and Europe. Former US President Richard Nixon was gifted White Rabbit candies when he visited China in 1972.
