Editor's Note:
An exhibition of ancient Chinese costumes was launched on Sunday at the National Museum in Beijing. The exhibition consists of six parts based on different ancient Chinese historical periods. There are nearly 130 cultural relics on display, including jade, bone, pottery, clothing, gold and silver accessories, paintings and calligraphy. Among these, more than 40 auxiliary exhibits, and about 170 pictures and multimedia facilities were also featured at the exhibition.
In addition to a large number of objects that directly depict the shapes of ancient costumes, the exhibition also drew a large number of line drawings and showcased 15 costume restoration portraits from different eras, in a bid to fully present the overall image of ancient Chinese clothing and accessories, and fully demonstrate ancient Chinese material civilization and spirit.
