The Beijing West Railway Station and Beijing Capital International Airport saw fewer passengers on Thursday, a day before the Chinese New Year, as more people have chosen to spend the Spring Festival in Beijing rather than return to their hometowns in order to support COVID-19 prevention work. On Thursday, the Beijing West Railway Station is expected to receive around 39,000 passengers, a drop of 69 percent compared to 127,000 in 2020.
