From the memorial site of the First National Congress of the CPC in Shanghai to the Red Boat on the South Lake of Jiaxing in East China’s Zhejiang Province, more than 30 foreign students from over 20 countries on Tuesday set out to experience the starting point of China’s "red culture."
The students come from eight universities including Shanghai Maritime University, Shanghai Institute of Technology, Shanghai University of Engineering Science and Shanghai Business School. Most of the students interviewed by the Global Times said that they are interested in Chinese culture and the trip is a good opportunity for them to better understand the country they're studying in.
Under the guidance of the people’s associations for friendship with foreign countries in Shanghai and Jiaxing, the event was co-organized by the Shanghai Overseas Returned Scholars Association and University of Manchester China Center. Photos: Yang Hui/GT
