Editor's Note:
Thursday marks the 129th anniversary of the speech of Pierre de Coubertin, which laid the foundation of the modern Olympic movement. In commemoration of the historical speech, known as the Olympic Manifesto, also with the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games less than three months away, ceremonial events were held in Beijing.   The Capital Civilizational Development Foundation and Civilization Magazine jointly released the design of "The Olympic Manifesto - the Beautiful Olympic Cultural Scroll III" at Peking Academy High School, where Liu Changchun, “China’s first Olympian”, trained for the 1932 Summer Olympics.   Before the releasing ceremony, Olympic champions Zhang Guozheng, Li Ting and other athletes had a special PE lesson with the school’s students to encourage them to take an active part in sports.
