To celebrate the Qixi Festival, or Chinese Valentine's Day, which falls on August 4, the Purple Bamboo Park held a special event - the "Magpie Bridge Immortals" Qixi Festival party. During the event, experts explained classic poems and folk customs related with the festival to the participants. Han-style clothing enthusiasts came together to enjoy Kunqu Opera performances, Guqin music, experience traditional activities such as the restoration of ancient books and needle threading which women engaged in during Qixi Festival in ancient times to plea for better embroidery and weaving skills.
