Shanghai Museum held a day-long carnival for the city's art lovers on Sunday, opening to the public for 24 hours for the first time. The event was held mainly to meet the demand of more visitors to watch the exhibition "Botticelli to Van Gogh: Masterpieces from the National Gallery," which was scheduled to end on the day.
The exhibition, jointly held by the Shanghai Museum and the National Gallery of the UK, displays 52 paintings from 50 well-known European art masters such as Raphael, Titian, Caravaggio, Rembrandt, Constable, Monet, and Van Gogh. It has attracted more than 400,000 visitors since kicking off on January 17. Photos: Chen Xia/GT
