Due to the heavy rain over consecutive days in Beijing, the water level along the Yongding River under Shougang Bridge has risen, causing some areas of the Winter Olympic Park under the bridge to become submerged. The Beijing Hydrological Station upgraded its flood warning to a red alert as of 11:00am on July 31 and upgraded it to orange alert for the Yongding River basin as of 15:00.
