On August 15, 2023, the Museum of the War of Chinese People's Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and Beijing No 12 High School organized a patriotic activity to commemorate the 78th anniversary of Japan's unconditional surrender in 1945. Over 400 freshmen from the school participated in the event, marching eight kms from the school to the museum, and visited a patriotic education-themed exhibition at the museum. Beijing No.12 High School, established in 1934 near Lugou Bridge, was originally called Jianyi Normal School of Wanping County. Every year, the school's teachers and students undertake a "Root-seeking Journey" on foot to remember history and never forget the national tragedy of war. Photos: Li Hao/GT
