On August 22, the traditional Chinese festival Qixi, also known as the Chinese Valentine's Day, Beijing's parks and the China Garden Museum jointly launched 37 Qixi-themed activities that combine the characteristics of the festival, traditional culture, and garden landscapes, attracting numerous visitors at this most romantic festival for Chinese people at the end of summer.
Qixi Festival falls on the seventh day of the seventh month of the Chinese calendar. According to traditional customs, people pray for blessings, make wishes, beg for skills, and pray for marriage on this day. After Qixi, the scorching heat of summer is coming to an end, and the time of clear skies and refreshing air is approaching.
