Editor's Note:
On January 11, 2024, the exhibition "Historic Encounters: Interaction between China and West Asia in History" was held at the Palace Museum in Beijing. China and West Asia, located at the eastern and western ends of the Asian continent, have known each other since ancient times. Starting from prehistoric times, there has been an exchange of agriculture, animal husbandry, handicrafts, art, and culture between the two regions.
Based on the collections of the Palace Museum, this exhibition brings together representative artifacts and images from domestic and international archaeological and cultural institutions, telling the story of China along the Silk Road. (Photos: Li Hao/GT)
