Editor's Note:
A new exhibition hosted by the China Academy of Art – The Song of the Earth: Artistic Documentary for a Better China – opened on Wednesday at the Beijing World Art Museum of the China Millennium Monument.
Gao Shiming, the exhibition’s planner and also president of the China Academy of Art, said that this year’s exhibition adopts “feel the land” as its annual theme, examining the hopes and possibilities brought by the interaction between humans and nature, art and technology, and traditions and innovative development in the building of a better China.
The exhibition also discusses new practices and new ideas in culture, art, and design that propel social development.
The exhibition features six sections: a collection of nearly a hundred new practice cases for the institute’s dedicated library, “Better China” proposals from local governments, boldly imaginative future-oriented proposals, a workshop area, books displays, and a comprehensive “Better China” case library.
Visitors will learn about the inspirational and representative stories of more than 300 “Better China” practitioners from 34 provincial administrative regions across China. Through the exhibits, they can experience the breadth and depth of the creative force from the whole of society driving the Better China Initiative and embark on an unforgettable journey.(Photos: Li Hao/GT)
