The opening ceremony of the 14th Beijing International Film Festival has taken place in Beijing’s Huairou district. With “Enlightened by Films, United as One” as the keywords, the festival began with an opening ceremony featuring over 200 celebrities, including director Peter Chan and iconic filmmaker Zhang Yimou. Serbian filmmaker Emir Kusturica will be the president of the Tiantan Award Jury. This year, Brazil is the guest of honour, celebrating 50 years of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
