Editor's Note:
At SinoEV (Hefei) Powertrain Technologies Co., a new-energy vehicle (NEV) battery plant located in Hefei, East China's Anhui Province, production line workers, dressed in tidy uniforms, meticulously conduct inspections, dispense, and weld in an orderly manner to ensure the precise assembly of battery cells. Established in 2010, SinoEV had produced over 1.4 million power battery systems by the end of 2023, solidifying its position as the fourth-largest power battery system supplier for pure electric passenger vehicles in China. Hefei has established a complete NEV industrial chain of approximately 500 companies, including vehicle and key component manufacturers, with a local NEV matching rate of about 35 percent. In 2023, the local NEV output reached 740,000 units, accounting for approximately 8 percent of the national output and ranking among the top three cities in terms of production volume. Hefei produced 163,200 NEVs in the first quarter of this year, marking a notable year-on-year increase of 28.8 percent.
