Design Shanghai 2024, Asia's leading international design event, kicked off in Shanghai on Wednesday. The exhibition at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center will run through Saturday. The exhibition features over 600 design brands from more than 40 countries and regions, showcasing designs in four categories: furniture and lighting design, kitchen and bathroom design, lifestyle and accessories design, and new materials and applications. In the section "Towards New Naturehoods," six Norwegian architectural practices demonstrate how architects in the Nordic region increasingly attempt to mediate between nature and culture, pushing towards architectural solutions that are more biodiverse and socially inclusive.
