Editor's Note:
In the early 1990s, the remarkable archaeological discovery of Yuanying Pagoda, Shanghai’s tallest ancient pagoda, amazed the public with exquisite artifacts. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the pagoda's restoration and exploration, the exhibition “A Towering Treasure House: Relics of the Yuanying Pagoda in Shanghai” will begin at Shanghai Museum on Wednesday. The exhibition showcases the urban development, cultural richness, and refined lifestyle of ancient Shanghai with 300 cultural relics from Yuanying Pagoda, including Buddhist statues and daily items made of materials like gold, silver, copper, and jade. It will be on display until November 11. (Photos: Chen Xia/GT)
