IAEA senior official visits CAEA Center for nuclear technology applications in agriculture

Sophie Boutaud de la Combe, director of Office of Public Information and Communication of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), visited the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and took a tour to the CAEA Center of Excellence on Nuclear Technology Applications for Irradiation Mutation Breeding, which is also the IAEA Collaborating Centre for Nuclear Techniques in Plant Mutation Breeding. Through the cooperation with IAEA, the CAEA Center has organized five international collaborative projects on crop mutation breeding involving 20 member countries in the Asia-Pacific region and it has trained over 150 young mutation breeding researchers from developing countries.
