Beijing's Qingcheng Palace at the Xiannongtan Temple opens

On December 21, also the Winter Solstice of China’s 24 solar terms, the Qingcheng Palace at Beijing's Xiannongtan Temple, which has a history of over 560 years, opened to the public for the first time. Originally named as Zhaigong, Qingcheng Palace was a place where the emperors fast before worship. It’s an important part of the Xiannongtan Temple, one of the 15 heritage sites along Beijing's central axis. (Photos: Li Hao/GT)
