The day of Longtaitou, literally meaning “dragon raises its head,” falls on March 1 this year. It is on this day that people traditionally get their first haircut since the Chinese New Year for good luck. Hair salons across China open earlier than usual on this day to welcome customers, and some organize celebration events. At a hair salon in Beijing’s Wangfujing street, the salon hosted an intangible cultural heritage (ICH) workshop, and a group of ICH inheritors received free haircuts. Photos: Li Hao/GT
