Chinese steelmaker Hangzhou Iron and Steel Group, established in 1957, has shut down its main production base on December 22, 2015. The relocation of Hangzhou Iron & Steel Production Base will be completed in 2017. According to the city’s environmental authorities, the annual coal consumption of the base is 1.2 million tons. The closure will cut emissions of sulfur dioxide by 7,000 tons, nitric oxide by 3, 400 tons and soot by 3,000 tons every year in the city, the paper.cn reported. Photos:Yang Hui/GT
