An Arctic fox was found in urban Jilin city, Jilin Province, with one leg wounded.

The fox has been sent to Jiangnan Park for treatment, where it will now be living.

At about 7:30 am on March 30, locals in Jilin city discovered the wounded animal about 200 meters north of the Jinzhu toll station, and one of them called the police.

Afraid that the frightened animal would lash out at them, and to avoid further damage to the fox's leg, police used two sticks to lift the fox by the head and swiftly stowed it in a bag. They then took it to Jiangnan Park.

"This appears to be a captive bred Arctic fox. It may be about 2 years old," said one employee at the Park.

He deduced from the fractures on the fox's hind leg that the fox had escaped while being transported and got lost in the city.
