Jiangsu university holds Han-style commencement ceremony

Professors and master's degree graduates participate in a Han Chinese-style commencement ceremony on June 20 at the Jiangsu Normal University in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province. The ceremony was marked by traditional Han dress (hanfu), music and ceremonial etiquette. The Han ethnic group accounts for more than 90 percent of the overall Chinese population. Master's degree graduates dressed in hanfu hold their degrees during the commencement ceremony at Jiangsu Normal University on June 20. The Han-themed ceremony was held to encourage students to cherish old traditions and break new ground, university president Ren Ping said in his graduation address.
