 Police in East China detained a thief while he was waiting near a police station to fight a man he had earlier robbed.

A man surnamed Du in Linyi, Shandong Province, posted a surveillance video of a thief robbing his apartment on a popular short video app, Kuaishou. The robber, surnamed Ge, saw himself on the video and phoned Du. 

Ge and Du agreed to meet and fight each other at a specific location that happens to be close to a police station.

Ge arrived early and wondered by the police station and a police officer surnamed Feng, who had watched Du's video on Kuaishou, recognized him and detained him for questioning.

Ge was charged with six robberies since March including one at Du's home.
