China will host a series of events to promote its rich cultural treasures and travel resources at its overseas cultural centers, China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced on Sunday.

The Network of International Culturalink Entities (NICE) will work with overseas cultural centers to hold China Tourism and Culture Week events from May 15 to June 30 under the theme of Beautiful China.

The event will see more than 250 different activities be held including the well-known Beautiful China photo exhibition, performances, talks and marketing events to answer the question "What is China like?"

Suzhou, one of the most famous water towns in East China's Jiangsu Province, will sponsor events in Tokyo, Singapore and Budapest. Longquan in Zhejiang Province will also promote its renowned Longquan celadon porcelain in Madrid and Seoul with a large showcase that details the connection between celadon and Longquan as well as the people behind the handicraft.

Additionally, exhibitions will introduce traditional Chinese medicine to travelers overseas.

Since 2016, NICE has hosted annual marketing events to promote Chinese culture under different themes including activities focusing on playwrights Tang Xianzhu and Shakespeare in 2016, an intangible cultural heritage week in 2017 and exhibitions of original cultural design in 2018.
