The widespread use of the ultra-high bandwidth that features 5G technology will contribute up to $1.3 trillion in revenue for global wireless media by 2025, an industry report said on Wednesday.

According to the Blue Book of Global Communicative Ecology released by the Social Sciences Academic Press of China, it is predicted that in 2025, 57 percent of revenue for global wireless media will come from the usage of the ultra-high bandwidth that features 5G networks and 5G-running devices.

The study suggests that 5G will generate $1.3 trillion in revenue for the media and entertainment industry over the next decade.

5G networks are expected to account for nearly 80 percent of global wireless media revenue, or $335 billion, in 2028. Over the next decade, 5G users' average monthly usage will grow sevenfold, and 90 percent of that will be consumed by video-watching or livestreaming.
