A special extended version of popular Chinese television series The Untamed debuted on WeTV, Tencent's international streaming platform, in Thailand on Wednesday.

"Congratulations to The Untamed for representing Chinese TV series entering the world stage. Thanks to [actors] Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo for companying us from the summer until this Christmas. You guys are brilliant," one fan posted on Sina Weibo.

According to Tencent, The Untamed Special Edition contains scenes and plots that are not in the original series that became a hit in China over the summer.

However, some netizens were unhappy.

"It is so unfair that Thailand can watch this version while I, as a Chinese cannot watch it," one netizen on Sina Weibo lamented.
