A woman and her Siberian husky, who can howl like the siren of a firetruck, have been made honorary members of local fire brigade, in Qiannan, Southwest China's Guizhou Province.

The woman and her dog live near a fire station and every time a firetruck on the way to an emergency passes below their apartment the dog wails at the sound of the siren.

They were recently invited to tour the fire station, where the 30-plus-kilogram husky was welcomed by the team of firefighters, offered a ride on the firetruck and given treats, according to a video posted on Weibo by WeMedia, which didn't mention the canine's name.

The video received more than 3 million views as of Thursday. A netizen wrote that it's a pity huskies can't work as a police dog or a fire dog.

A number of breeds of dogs are known to howl in response to high-pitched sounds, such as emergency vehicle sirens or musical instruments. "So it might speak human being's language one day," one netizen commented.
